I have a dream... 🤔💭

Konnichiwa!
We are about to start our learning on speeches in Rimu.
When I found out, I was so excited!
It's kind of sad though because Zahrah and Olivia both apparently HATE speeches!
Before we get into all the creating and deep learning, we had a task to do to train our brain. In order to set up our mindset for speeches, we used the six tools in the mental toughness toolkit to create a motivational drawing of ourselves.
We used google drawings to make these.
MY dream for how it will all go: I want to be confident and I want to speak loudly. I know it's a lot to ask but I hope that maybe just maybe I can make a change.
My DLO is below!

While I was designing this google drawing I thought about me on a stage and how people would be watching me but I would still be happy and calm.
I have to admit though, the hardest part will be staying calm during the presentation.
The easiest part during this will be writing a first draft; it's always easy and fun!
I chose these tips for myself because I want to be calm and loud and confident. I know it will be hard but I'll try my best.

Have you wrote a speech before?
What was it about?
What did you write it about and why?

If you are writing a comment on this blog, you could choose to use these cool sentence starters:

INTRO: Hello my name is... and I'm from... school.
POSITIVE: I liked the way you...
THOUGHTFUL: This reminded me of...
HELPFUL: To improve, you could...

Blog Commenting 💬

What I know about Blog Commenting:
The comment needs to be positive, thoughtful, helpful.
The comment should connect with the person who created the post and give them things to improve on in a positive way.
You have to be careful about what you say in case it offends the person reading the comment.
You don't want to make the comment rude or mean in any way.
The comment should be rather large, five to six sentences.
Give the person you're commenting on feedback on their learning.
Shouldn't have private information such as full name, phone number, and address.

Here is a comment I did on Zahrah's AWESOME blog:

................................................................................................................

Hello Zahrah, my bestie, great to digitally see you again.

I liked the way you have showed one of the pictures that my friend, Olivia, is tracing and put a bunch of information on your slide.

This reminds me of when I did my topic on The Scorching. The Scorching is a time in Wings Of Fire when dragons were at war against humans, cool right!

To improve, you could maybe have called your blog post Wings Of Fire or something like that to match the topic you learnt about, glow to flow is still a really really good title but Wings Of Fire or something similar might match it a little better. Maybe you could've also wrote about FLOW and why we were learning about it to make this post even better!

What is your favourite type of dragon?
Why is it your favourite type of dragon?

Cya later Zahrah, keep it up!

Here is a comment I have left on one of my best friends from Te Mahuri:

................................................................................................................

Hello Paige my bestie, It's me, Amelia!

I liked the way you have shown a cool picture of what you made, it seems a bit scary in that room don't you think? I like how you explained what you have been learning about and why you drew that picture as well.

This reminds me of when my friend Olivia designed a beetle for reading work and it had a mermaid tail and wings and other crazy stuff. (I know, its totally random but its the first thing I thought of on this post!)

To improve, maybe you could add a slide with the picture on it or maybe a bit more about your reading work or a funny goodbye gif at the end. (Don't forget to put the gif's link in!)

Why did you think to make this blog post?
What was your favourite part in the book?

Cya later Paige, keep it up!

VOTE RIGHT NOW!

Kon'nichiwa everyone!
Today I'm going to be talking about a writing competition that our class is doing.
So basically the teacher made a slideshow for us to write on.
We had the choice between a compelling mystery, a news report, and a rhyming poem.
There are a few rules though...
I think it has to be 150 words or less otherwise you get disqualified.
There are certain words you need to have in it though like brains, work, intelligence, and things like that.
The reason that there are highlighted words is because we needed to highlight words like work, coordination, and brains.
There are a list of 28 words like that but I'm running out of time so I can't write it all.
Well if you want to cast a vote, here is the link!

I think I did pretty well and that my writing is pretty good.
I'm not going to tell you which one is mine though...

Have you done a writing competition like this before?
Did you have any rules?

Peace Out Goodbye GIF

Cybersmart Commenting! 💻

Konnichiwa!
This week and last week Olivia, Zahrah, and I have been working on cybersmart commenting.
Well, Olivia and Zahrah worked on it last week, but I wasn't here last week.
Anyways, if you want to know more (and I'm sure you do) have a look at this slide.
Wait!
First, here is the place we copied the google drawing from.

I think I'm pretty good at writing and checking comments. I used to write huge ones but I started running out of time so they're a bit smaller now.

What size are your comments?
Have you done something like this?

🖊️ My Teacher Broke A Pen 🖊️

Hello everyone!
My teacher broke a pen.
Yes, my teacher broke a pen just for its spring.
Why did she need a spring, you ask?
Well she was trying to teach us about resilience.
Resilience is basically something being able to be pulled or stretched but then to bounce back, like a spring.
Ms Rennell percepted it as the spring stretching as in having lots of work to do and being stressed.
Then the spring bounces back but the spring is never exactly the same length again.

My resilience is pretty good. When I'm not on task I try to refocus and get back on with my work. I try not to get too distracted by my friends and not argue but we all know it happens sometimes.

Do you think you have much resilience?
Has your teacher broken a pen before?
Do you get distracted by your friends sometimes?

🐀 Start Incredibly Small 🐀

Hello everyone!
Today I'm going to be talking about how you can be successful, and also a guy named James Clear.
On his website we found out about how to get a new habit or skill
The first thing is that they don't sound easy, in fact they sound a bit hard and stressful, and that makes you want to procrastinate.
What is procrastinating, you might ask.
Well procrastinating is putting something off, like watching TV instead of or before doing your homework or chores.

Anyways, I bet you want to learn how to start small and more about James Clear so here's a slide for you to take a peek at.

This tip is really good and it makes me want to do things more and it doesn't seem as hard or stressful.
I think these tips are the key to success and I'm sure even YOU can get a new habit out of them!

Have you used these tips before?
Have you heard of James Clear?
How hard is it for you to start a new habit?
Do you think these tips make it any easier for you?
