Its All In A Name! Week 1, Day 4, Activity 2

Kia ora everyone!
It's me Amelia, here again to show you my next activity for the summer learning journey, or SLJ.
You might be wondering, what is the summer learning journey, well you are about to find out!
Well first let me explain something called 'the summer slide'.
So in the holidays, we chill out a lot and get relief that school is finished, but we don't really do much learning at home.
Our learning skills go down and once we are back at school we are stuck with a lot of things and have to catch up.
So the summer learning journey prevents that from happening!
What's better?
You can win prizes that are sometimes worth hundreds of dollars, so it's all completely worth it.
So thats what it is!
Now, the activity I'm doing requires me to imagine I could change my name.
I've thought of a name I would like to have even though there are a few others, this is the one I like the most.

Bye!
I hope you enjoyed this blog post. and have a good day!

  1. Hello Amelia, its me Parwin! I see you are also doing the SLJ, the challenge is on.

I really like the fact which you have included a lot of information and you have also included why you liked that name as well. The background and everything looks really nice as everything kind of pops out because of the colours which you have chosen.

This reminds me of like space themed things and just reminds me of the galaxies and everything. I really like the name Luna as it is a unique name.

I think that to improve, maybe you could include what the meaning of Luna is because some people might not know even though it means Moon but yeah, that would make your blog post even better!

    Awesome work!

Looking forward to your next posts,
    Parwin

    1. Hi Parwin!

      Thanks for commenting!

I did say it relates to the moon and stars.
Maybe you could add a comment because I don't really know what to say in my reply.
Well, what would you want to be called if you had the choice?

      Bye Parwin!

  2. Hi Amelia! My name is Mia from Yaldhurst Model School. Awesome work! I really liked your drawing, the colors matched really well and it was really eye catching! I also liked the way that you have made everything yourself.

I really like the name Luna, I think it would really suit you since you have such blonde hair, do you think so? it reminds me of Luna Lovegood, a character from Harry Potter, she also has really blonde hair, kind-of like yours.

I don't really have much for you to improve, except for you to put who Olivia B is, obviously I am from Yaldhurst like you so I know who it is but other people probably don't know.

    Great work!
    Mia

  3. Hi there Amelia, Its Abby from Yaldhurst Model School. Luna is actually the name of my cat.

I like the way that you made a background and explained what Luna sort of means and why you would want that name.

I actually only just did this activity today and I chose the name Clover mainly because of the book Clover Moon. That's a weird coincidence.

Next time you could say what language Luna is from because in english it is Moon. Thinking about that I am technically calling my cat Moon.

Would you change your last name as well?

    Kind regards,
    Abby.

  4. Hello Amelia,
    Its me Alan.

    Excellent job Amelia.

It reminds me when I did this.

If you want to improve maybe you can write some facts that go with that name.
    Awesome work!
Looking forward to your next posts,
    Kind regards
    Alan

  5. Kia ora Amelia,

Well done on another awesome Summer Learning Journey post. Keep them coming!

What a bright poster you have created to tell us about your name change. I love the colours you have chosen.

The name you have chosen is such a lovely name and I like that you have explained that it relates to the moon and the sky. Do you like astronomy?
My friend has a telescope and it's amazing how beautiful space is when you look at it through a telescope! Have you used one before?

Until next time, happy blogging :)
